My daughter's 1996 Maxima was having apparent transmission problems. I spoke to Ben, the owner of AAMCO who offered a free inspection. The owner son, Ben, gave me a ride home. Unable to diagnose the problem Steve recommended a complete diagnostic test at a minimum charge that would be applied to any repairs. AAMCO invested between two to three hours' labor inspecting the transmission and running additional diagnostics. As it turned out, Steve reported the transmission was in good shape, diagnosing instead a possible mass airflow sensor problem. But, not having the right test equipment to confirm that was the case, Steve recommended other shops having the necessary equipment to make further diagnostic tests. Even though AAMCO was entitled, by contract, to compensation, they said "since we were unable to find or fix the problem we wave all fees."I recommend AAMCO in Oceanside without reservation.

I had my check engine light come on after having some issues with an oil leak a few months back. I was worried I'd have to pay hundreds of dollars AGAIN like I did for the initial repairs, so I decided to take my car here. The staff at North County Auto Service is super friendly and helpful! You know they've got some great customer service when you already feel like a regular after your first visit. They told me my car was actually in very good condition and that the check engine light was just a small technical thing. I've never had a auto service business tell me that there really wasn't anything wrong with my car. They could've spun something else on me and charge me so much more, but they didn't.Also, I took in my car on tuesday midday and told them I wouldn't be able to pick it up til thursday. Since I gave that time frame, I was sure they wouldn't look at it til wednesday. Rex called me first thing in the morning on wednesday that my car was fully checked and ready to be picked up. On top of that, Rex leaves really understandable notes on the invoice detailing everything that was done to the car. This place surprised me in so many ways. If you're like me and you've never felt like you could trust a mechanic, take your car here so they can change your mind about the industry

My experiences with North County Auto Service started in 1996 when I was an insurance auto appraiser. When I worked with a shop it was based on businesses who have outstanding customer service, integrity, and the ability to trust that the shop can get the job done right without a customer having problems or a "come-back". In 2003, I bought a Honda Van which had to go to dealer for warranty service. I got used to my service advisor so just stayed with them up until recently. My Honda is 14 years old, has a 150k, and still a great vehicle. But in a dealer's situation, they don't fix, they only replace. I had no symptoms or problems with it. I didn't screw the gas cap on like you are supposed to and it will cause the engine light to turn on. When I took it to the dealer to turn the light off, they told me that I needed a transmission. I took it to a reliable, local shop for thorough check out. There was nothing wrong with my transmission. I then realized I needed to change my service shops.I saw on Yelp that North County is still the great business I remembered and had them do a thorough safety check before a long trip that I will be taking soon. What I appreciate most in any repair facility is when they truly listen to you, repeat it back, and give good suggestions for what you need. Rex did all that. I have had experiences where a vehicle will just sit on a lot and you have to call them for status. Not so, with Rex and North County Auto Service. They kept me apprised the whole time my vehicle was there. It was finished when they promised it would be. When I picked up my vehicle, it had been cleaned inside and out. It felt like a new vehicle driving it and I wouldn't want to replace it because it is a great vehicle. But, it will only be a great vehicle if you have the right people maintaining it for you. I trust that North County Auto Service will be the only shop I go to from now on. It is such a relief to know you are in good hands and people who care and have consistently been this way as long as I have known them.

Mike has put together a team of experts who are willing to go the extra mile to make sure a vehicle is repaired to satisfaction. They are all more than willing to go out of their way to make sure a job it done right. Mike is very friendly and very customer service oriented. He has helped me track down some of the most complex problems with my vehicle. His can-do and never give up attitude are all very important characteristics to me, and his team expresses that and more everyday. He will work with you to make your experience comfortable, reasonable, and importantly, complete. Thank you Mike, Rex, Fernando and the rest of the NC Auto team!

They are by far, the best mechanic service I have ever experienced. Mike is incredibly professional and will always be 100% truthful to you. I have gone years without trusting mechanics, but North County Auto Services have really changed my mind. I always feel like they are being honest with me when they are working on my car. I always feel good after leaving there. They certainly have me as a lifelong customer. You will love them!

If you are looking for an honest and capable auto shop with really trustworthy folks, look no further!!! I called on a Friday afternoon around 4:30 after just getting worked over at Express Tires (by Rite Aid) and spoke to Mike. Right away he gave me a good feeling, he was super helpful and understanding about my situation. We made arrangements for Monday morning and upon bringing my car in and telling hin the story Express Tire gave me, he said he had reservations about their diagnosis and would give everything a thorough looking over. Well come to find out the diagnosis at Express Tire ($900+ for ball joints and control arms) was COMPLETELY BOGUS!!! None of the work they said needed doing did!! Went from almost $1000 for stuff that wasn't needed to $300 for rear rotor shaving and new pads! Mike and Rex run an honest business in what can be a corrupt industry. Their level of true customer service is refreshing and appreciated!!! Good honest people who do great work. Thx Mike & North County Auto Service!

Rex and Mike are running an amazing auto repair shop! Both of them are very friendly and it is not just to your face; they truly care about their customers and (more importantly) the customer's vehicles. I came in there after doing quite a bit of my own work on my truck (head gasket replacement) and they still treated me with respect when I needed help to find and fix the problem with my coolant system and their mechanic's have attention to detail; he found a bolt for a tool I had cross threaded and after calling me and letting me know I gave them the green like to do what they could to get it out (it was cross threaded extremely bad) and they were able to remove it, fix the threads, and position the pulley correctly for a more than reasonable price. I was quoted by one auto repair shop $1000 to fix my issue .... Mike and Rex fixed the issue and the cross threaded bolt/misaligned pulley for less than half that!Thank you guys for your honesty, fairness, attention to detail and friendly conversation. :) Hopefully I don't have to comeback too often but when I do I will have the peace of mind that you and your mechanics are the ones taking care of my vehicle.Highly recommended! and Semper Fi!

N. County Auto Service is the place to take your vehicle if you are looking for an honest owner and good mechanics.I called every jeep service dealershi and many non jeep and FINALLY found this place. I was lucky enough to speak with Mike the owner and told him I've never had a tune up or brake job since I bought the jeep.I asked to have many things fixed and Mike said they would test them before replacing them and come to find d out what I wanted fixed didn't need to be fixed but my brakes and rotors were dangerously low. I could technically say he saved my life but, I'm thankful they find the problems that need to be fixed rather replace what I think needs to when what I thought was fine.Take your cars, trucks, jeeps here. Ask for Mike he's way cool and hea honest!
